Unnatural Updates for the week of 7.31.23

8/2 @ 6pm SLT: Welcome Wednesday is walking their dogs and feeding the fish at Ashmore Park in Town Square! Meet Ünnatural Staff, Lore Keepers and Residents. New and old players are welcome. Have questions about lore, the site, races, stories, or businesses? This is the place to ask or we can just dance and chat about random things. See you there!

8/3 @ 4pm SLT: Fight Club - Anyone who wishes to participate may ICly know of Fight Club either through word of mouth or due to seeing one of the ads online and around Ashmore. If you wish to become a member simply message Tadashir [Mike Jones] on either discord or in world. Send an IC text message or just stop by Bad Moon Saloon or the Junkyard.

8/5 and 8/6 ALL DAY: Full Moon Observance - As the glowing full moon rises high in the sky, the howls of the wild will fill the air. Brave the darkness as you make your way through the forests (don't fall in the quarry!), where who knows what dangers lurk in the shadows. Do you have what it takes to survive the night? Only one way to find out! Humans lock your doors, the freaks are out tonight.

Check individual race pages to see how your character responds during the full moon! /

>>Have an event you'd like to see on sim? Submit your ideas here: Make sure after you submit to send a quick DM to Leah Grave (abigail.macalroy) in-world or ryder_storms in Discord.

8/9 @ 4pm SLT - Welcome Wednesday at the Ashmore Lodge

August 26th and 27th (Blue Moon)

It has been a hot time in the city! But it appears we are going to get a brief reprise in the first half of the week. But that doesn't mean Ashmore is out of danger. It seems our local sanguine purveyor is in a tight spot after their House Red was ruined during the last power outage. And news just broke that the hospital experienced a critical power failure, leading to a loss of blood supply due to the failure of refrigeration systems. This unexpected loss of blood units has forced the hospital to close its operations temporarily until the situation can be rectified.

What does this mean for Ashmore citizens? Perhaps avoid evening strolls, dates with "strangely pale for the summer" individuals, and utilize the buddy system.

While Unnatural operates primarily as a consent-based roleplay environment, and we ask that players respect the limits of others, it is important to note that the "right-to-life" is not absolute, and that limits do not provide utter immunity from consequences; consequences that may include death. Simply put, if you do not wish for death to be inflicted upon your character, it would be wise not to put them in a situations that could likely result in their untimely demise.

For example, if you were to walk into a bar and open fire on the patrons within, you might reasonably be expected to be shot at - either by understandably upset bar-goers, or the equally irate police who show up. Knowingly putting your character into a situation that could reasonably result in their death forfeits all right-to-life and player limits.

This also applies to breaking the veil. As a reminder, the veil exists to protect the existence of the supernatural from the human world. Any actions that intentionally break the veil can have serious consequences for both the individual and the community as a whole.

We ask that all players keep this in mind when making decisions in-game. Breaking the veil is not taken lightly and can lead to realistic consequences.

If ever in doubt about your story line in relation to the veil, reach out to your race Lore Keeper or a Community Lead!

Have a great week Unnatural!
