Unnatural Updates for the week of 9.11.23

Citizens can rest this week knowing a serial killer is off the streets of Ashmore. According to Ashmore Police Department, a warrant was executed at the residence of one Havier Ohler in Berks County, PA. Ohler was wanted in connection with a string of murders spanning North-Eastern Pennsylvania, including victims in Montrose, Honesdale, Ashmore, and Towanda. Ohler was successfully apprehended after a brief stand-off with Law Enforcement, and transferred to Berks County Jail where he was arraigned without bail. A date for the trial has not been set.

In other news, tyranny has found it's way to our little hamlet. Team Hydrant Humpers is trying to oppress Team Sanguine Sippers by taking away their inalienable rights. Then tension brewing between the wolves and the vampires seems to be surpassing the great Team Edward/Team Jacob debate of the early 2000's. What will this mean for Ashmore when tempers finally turn to action?

ROLEPLAY INSIGHTS OF THE WEEK: Disagreeing with Sim Lore

In the vast and creatively charged realm of Second Life, roleplay sims are the lifeblood of immersive storytelling. Each sim weaves its own intricate lore, a tapestry of narratives carefully crafted by the community that inhabits it.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Second Life is its adaptability. Unnatural's lore creator, Kalilope Karas, has spent years crafting the framework we exist in while hoping to leave enough room for creativity and inclusivity of the differing supernatural lore that exists in the world. But as stated on the race pages, "This is our version."

Many players have found ingenious ways to work around the parameters of the lore. They create alternative storylines, forging their own unique narratives within the sim's framework. Those that tend to push against the lore seemingly struggle to create meaningful roleplay and connections within the sim environment.

But what happens when you don't quite see eye to eye with the established lore?

You can speak to a community lead or lore keeper to see if there is any insight or clarification on the lore that could be helpful as your craft your story.

Positive and constructive feed back is welcomed. Though it will not guarantee change to the lore, it may spark further clarification on the existing lore in future updates.

Or you can decide that perhaps this lore doesn't fit your unique storytelling journey and explore the endless storytelling crossroads possibilities of roleplay in the Second Life Grid.

Enjoy your week Unnatural!
