The Ashmore Pack is the governing body for all Packs in Ashmore. With cities expanding and forests shrinking, Frick Grey created a sanctuary for all Werewolves, now passed on to his nephew, Paul. The Pack exists to protect Werewolves and give them a place to live, hunt, and be free.
Packs that come to Ashmore can keep their own beliefs, rituals, and Alphas. They govern themselves as they would anywhere else, but at the end of the day, they answer to Paul, the Territory Alpha, and must follow Ashmore’s rules to ensure peaceful cohabitation. The same applies to “lone wolves” who come to the territory.
OOC: In most Werewolf lore, hierarchy is a core part of their culture, much like real wolf packs. Werewolves grow up understanding their place, with respect for rank being essential. It's not a democracy—Alphas lead because they’ve earned it, and their word is law. If a wolf steps out of line, it’s common for others to check them—whether through words or a challenge. Disrespect or recklessness is dealt with directly, and once it's resolved, it’s over. This structure mirrors how real wolf packs operate, where the alpha leads and members follow a clear order for survival. The pack values loyalty, discipline, and strength, knowing that trust and accountability keep them strong.
This hierarchy can be seen in many fictional packs, like the **Alpha Pack** from *Teen Wolf*, the **Moonlight Pack** from *Bitten*, or the **New Orleans Pack** in *The Originals*, where the Alphas hold ultimate authority and enforce respect among their members. These examples show how Werewolf packs are about survival, strength, and maintaining order.
Ashmore Pack Alpha: Paul Grey. At the top of this structure stands the Pack Alpha, the leader who wields ultimate authority over the entire territory.
Ashmore Pack Beta: (Currently None) The right-hand wolf who assists in managing the broader affairs of the Ashmore territory and acts in the Alpha’s stead if the Alpha is unavailable.
There are various roles within the Pack–listed below in rank order.
Deltas are middle-ranking members with key responsibilities. They answer directly to the Alpha or Beta, keep an eye on the town, gather information, and watch for new packs or potential threats. If new wolves show up or miss important events like a Moot or during the Bad Moon, it’s the Deltas’ job to greet them and assess their intentions. They ensure newcomers understand the pack's laws and decide whether they’re welcome or need to be kept in check. Though not at the top, Deltas are essential for maintaining order and protecting the pack.
Gammas are the pack’s enforcers, often seen as the soldiers. They patrol the woods and town perimeter, always on the lookout for trouble, whether it’s rogue wolves, intruders, or other threats. While they don’t hold leadership roles like Deltas, they are crucial in defending the pack and ensuring the safety of the territory. Their job is all about strength, protection, and maintaining the pack’s security.
Omegas are the pack’s caregivers and peacekeepers. They tend to the wounded and sick, offering both medical and spiritual support. Though they hold the lowest rank, their role is vital for maintaining harmony within the pack.
Ashmore's territory welcomes new packs. Wolves can tell they’re in someone’s territory by the unique scent markers that pack members leave around the area, like urine or claw marks on trees. When entering a new territory, it’s customary to approach the Alpha respectfully. A wolf will usually make their presence known, avoid being too direct, and keep a neutral stance—just showing they’re not a threat.
An Alpha with a pack may present themselves and their Beta or their mate, should they have one. They may also do this at the next Moot (see below). Deltas may also pay a visit to the new pack/wolves to let them know they’ve been spotted and welcome them to the area. Even if a pack chooses to not be an active participant of The Ashmore Pack, they fall under The Ashmore Pack's jurisdiction and laws must be obeyed.
The Moot is a meeting held once a month for all Alphas in the territory. They may bring their Beta or Mate, but know this is a Werewolf Only meeting. Moots are used to update everyone on issues, settle disputes, plan or strategize on territory problems, and for newcomers to present themselves and meet others.
Preserve the Veil
Cover your tracks by any means necessary.
Protect the Sanctuary
No wolf shall engage in or support any harm to the forest or the lands that protect us.
Honor the Pack
Wolves protect their own—born or turned.
Respect the Alpha and Beta
The words of the Pack Alpha and Beta are law.
Alphas Represent Their Pack
Alphas are responsible for their pack and answer for any misbehavior within their pack. They enforce the laws and answer directly to the Pack Alpha and Beta, except in the case of veil breaches—those go straight to the Alpha or Beta.
Lone Wolves
Lone Wolves still fall under the Ashmore Pack jurisdiction. Any Wolf who rejects the Pack and refuses to answer to the Alpha or Beta is a threat to all.
Respect Territory
Pack lands and neighboring territories will be respected.
Hunt with Purpose
We hunt to survive, never for sport. This law extends to humans—those who hunt for pleasure will be dealt with as enemies of the Pack.
